A Different Sort of Real: The Diary of Charlotte McKenzie is the seventh book in the My Australian Story series. It was first published in November 2001 by Scholastic Australia. The book was reissued in May 2006, in January 2012 as The Deadly Flu, and in August 2020 as Contagion. It was followed by Who Am I? by Anita Heiss.
