David Ward (born January 11, 1967) is a Canadian writer. He is the author of I Am Canada book Fire in the Sky.

Ward was born in Montreal, Quebec, but grew up in British Columbia. He worked as an elementary school teacher for eleven years and is currently completing a PhD in Language and Literacy.
His first book, The Hockey Tree, was the winner of the Shining Willow Award in 2007 and short-listed for the Chocolate Lily Book Award in 2008. His book, Fire in the Sky, was commended for Best Books for Kids and Teens by the Canadian Children's Book Centre in 2014.
