Our Race for Reconciliation is the thirty-sixth book published in My Australian Story. It is the second book written by Anita Heiss for the series after the 2001 book, Who Am I?. The book was published in May 2017 by Scholastic Australia and was followed by Sally Murphy's Bushfire.

Anita Heiss is an Australian author and member of the Wiradjuri nation of central New South Wales. For her writing, she usually draws from her Aboriginal identity. Heiss has written a number of novels, essays, and poems in a variety of genres. She is well known for her memoir Am I Black Enough For You? and her adult fiction series Not Meeting Mr. Right. Our Race for Reconciliation is Heiss's second book for My Australian Story after Who Am I? in 2001.
